I’d like to include a bottle of wine in a gift basket that i sell online. Do I need a liquor license?

Every single state requires a license to sell any alcoholic beverage. There are many different types but all are required. Beyond the license you must then determine if you can ship to the state as those laws vary state to state as well. On top of that you’ll need age verification and adult signature required. You also need to ship it temp controlled since it is perishable and driving around in a hot van for even a few hours will ruin it.
I sell about 2K wine gift baskets a year out my stores all locally. I do not ship. There are too many risks and restrictions.
What happens if the person isn’t there when its delivered?
What if there’s no adult home?
As soon as you add alcohol to the equation things get very complicated.
Just some advice from someone’s who been through it all.
